Connie Traylor Gwin, age 83, peacefully passed away Saturday morning. She is survived by her son, Claude Gwin, Jr. (Jackie) of Blackstock; brother, Paul Traylor of Macon, Ga.; grandchildren, Claude Gwin, III (Robin), Curtis Gwin (Courtney), Bailey Mobley (Devin Carpenter), Rawls Shirley (Morgan); and six great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Gwin, Sr., her parents, Conrad M. and Eva Holder Traylor; brothers, Dewey, Mack and Frank Traylor.
Mrs. Gwin was retired after a long career of public service. She had worked for the SC Office of the State Auditor, served Chester County as Treasurer and Fairfield Memorial Hospital as Chief Financial Officer. She was a member of Catholic Presbyterian Church where she had served as the treasurer.
The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Catholic Presbyterian Church and the burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in Mrs. Gwin’s name to Hospice Care of SC. The family will receive friends at the home, 3595 Bethlehem Road, on Sunday and Monday and immediately following the funeral on Tuesday.
