Edward O. “Squeaky” Mobley, age 84, died December 19, 2018. Mr. Mobley was the widow of Janie Black Mobley and the son of the late Edward D. and Ethel Jeanette Knox Mobley. He is survived by his daughters, Tammie M. Gonzales (Robbie) and Tracey M. Lance, both of Chester; sisters, Doris Knight and Betty Hinson, both of Chester; grand-children, Robbie Gonzales (Cindy), Kasie Estes (Edward), Angel Lance (Ebony); great-grand-children, Torrie, Javy, and Marteen Gonzales, Aysia and Andre Hall. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Tommy Lance.
The last months of Mr. Mobley's life were enriched by the love and care of special caregivers, Beverly Hicks and Always Best Care Senior Services of Rock Hill.
Mr. Mobley graduated from Blackstock High School where he played basketball and found his love for sports. He was a coach for local women’s softball and youth baseball. He retired from Spring’s Industries having worked in the Gayle and Eureka plants. After his retirement he worked for the Cinema One Theater and Coin Laundry in Chester. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
The graveside funeral for Mr. Mobley will be conducted by Reverend Keith Hinson, 11a.m. Saturday, December 22, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
