Zeddie D. Mobley

Zeddie Dewey Mobley, Sr., age 73 and husband of Marlene Ramey Peeples died March 27, 2018 in Piedmont Medical Center.

He was the son of the late John H. and Maggie Darby Mobley. He was retired from Springs Industries and a member of Chester First Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his wife Marlene, he is survived by one son, Zeddie “Toot” Mobley, Jr.; one daughter, Angela M. Magee (Ron); one step son, David Peeples (Ryane) all of Chester; four brothers, Winfield Mobley, John Mobley (Elaine), William “Doodle” Mobley (Jackie), David Mobley (Judy) all of Chester; three sisters, Magdalene James (Jimmy) of Inman, Nancy M. Keenon (Tommy), Alma Lee M. Roof (Frank) all of Chester. His grandchildren are Jarvis Colvin (Jenny), Jena Barrier (Jacob), Zayda Fay Mobley, Zeddie “Tripp” Mobley III, Ryan Magee, Heather Lynn Rogers, Randy Magee; great-grandchildren are Jarvis Colvin III, Rebecca Barrier. Mr. Mobley was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Jean Mobley; one brother, Phil Mobley; and one grandson, Lance Reese.    

The visitation and funeral for Mr. Mobley will be at Chester First Church of the Nazarene Monday, April 2, 2018. The visitation will be from 2:00pm until 3:00pm, the funeral will be conducted by Pastors Bryan Howard and John Porter at 3:00p.m.

The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, be made to the Family Life Center Fund of Chester First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney Street, Chester, SC 29706. The family will gather at the home of Nancy and Tommy Keenon, 2363 Pressley Road.
