Helen Dodds

Annie Helen Mitchell Dodds, age 86, of 2549 Pinckney Road passed away Saturday October 4, 2014 at her home. In 1928 Mrs. Dodds was born in York, SC to John C. and Mary Hartness Mitchell. She was the widow of Sam Dodds. She and Mr. Dodds were well known in Chester as the owners of Dodds Groceries.

Mrs. Dodds was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church and was well known for her loving hugs and remembering friends and family with birthday cards.

She is survived by sister-in-laws, Juanita Dodds and Margaret Mitchell; brother-in-law, Ed Lear; Neices and nephews, Kathy Howell, Debra Richardson, Johnny Mitchell, Jeffery Mitchell, Jerry McDaniel, J.C. McDaniel, Pat Bland, Jean Lee and Lynn Austin.

The visitation and funeral for Mrs. Dodds will be at Armenia United Methodist Church on Monday October 6, 2014. The visitation will be from 3:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. The funeral will be conducted by Pastor Eric Shepard at 4:00p.m.  Mrs. Dodds will be laid to rest in church cemetery. On Sunday the family will be gathering at the home on Pinckney Road. It was Mrs. Dodds request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Armenia United Methodist Church.
