Avery Obryan
West
August 21, 2009 – May 3, 2026
Avery Obryan West, 16, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Avery was an energetic, ray of sunshine. He quickly filled any silence in the room. Growing up Avery liked to help his Dad doing home remodeling, hunting, fishing, and climbing anything he could. He was an avid baseball player. He attended Chester First Free Will Baptist Church and went to school at Hawthorne Christian Academy up until he went to Chester High School. He enjoyed his visits to Poppy and Grandma Sue’s farm as well as being spoiled by all his Great Aunts. Whenever he would call his mother the first thing he would ask is “Ma whatcha cookin, whatcha gonna cook for me?” He and his mother enjoyed their cuddles and scary movies even though he often bailed saying, “I’m just gonna go see what Travis is up to.” Avery enjoyed brotherly camaraderie with Travis and Rob as the runt of the litter. As he grew into a young teenager you rarely saw him without his cousin Kaidyn. Avery’s absence will leave a huge hole in the lives of his loved ones, but they know he is safe and sound in the arms of his Creator.
He was the adopted son of Robert E. West, of the home, and the late Elizabeth Carol Watkins West. He is also survived by his mother Christina Baird and father Anthony Isom ; his brothers and sisters, Travis Isom, Vermont Kennedy, and Jayce Pardue, Alivyah Kennedy and LeAnn Howze; his grandparents, Shari Sanders, Grandma Sue Choate, “Poppy” William Choate; and his great-grandmother, “Granny” Barbara Long; his aunts and uncles, Cynthia Pressley, Sara Baird, Kaitlyn Baird, Kayla Isom, Meghan Nelson, Adam Baird, and Jonathon Isom; his dearest closest cousin, Kaidyn Sanders, and a family friend, Mont Kennedy, along with several great aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rob West and his grandfather Jeffrey Baird.
