Barbara Jean Ashe, 84, wife of Harold H. Ashe for 54 years, passed away Wednesday morning. She was born in Chester to the late John J. and Connie Sanders Lee. In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Scotty Stevenson of Richburg; one daughter, Debra Albert (Ralph) of Chester; four grandchildren, Bailey Stevenson, Chrissy Reeves, Ralph Albert, Jr. (Mandy) and Brooke Varnadore (Chris); nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Wayne Dunn; sisters, Yvonne Morrison, Ruth Yarborough and Linda Lloyd.

Due to impaired vision Mrs. Ashe was a homemaker. She was a member of Ember Church.

The family will receive friends 10 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8th at Ember Church, 1841 JA Cochran By-Pass in Chester. Reverend Kevin Taylor will officiate the funeral and begin at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

The pallbearers will be Harold Ashe, Scotty Stevenson, Scott Houston, Bubba Albert, Jeff Lucas, and Mark Hill.
