Barbara Ann Scurry, 72, of 662 Village Drive, entered glory on October 12, 2014. Her visitation and funeral will be held at Chester Freedom Ministries, 662 McCandles Road, on Wednesday. The visitation will begin at 2:00p.m., followed by the funeral which will begin at 3:00p.m. Reverend Kevin Taylor will officiate. Mrs. Scurry will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Scurry was born in Mecklenburg County to Freddie B. and Georgia Mae Hill Smith. She was known to have a green thumb and loved growing and tending her plants and flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Robin Gibney (Charles) of Rock Hill and Sherri Matthews (John) of Chester; two brothers, Howard Lee Smith of Belmont, NC, Franklin D. Smith of Saint Mary's, Ga; seven grand-children and three great-grand-children.

The family is meeting at the home of Sherri Matthews, 541 Debruhl Road.
