Barbara Hatchell Swanger, 75, passed away Sunday. She was born in Chester and the daughter of the late Leroy G. and Arlene Riedel Hatchell. She is survived by one son, James W. "Pete" Pettit of York; one daughter, Kim Neely (Arthur) of York; stepdaughters, Karen Huddleston (Joey) and Marnee Jordan (Phil) both of Rock Hill; one brother, Randy Hatchell of Rock Hill, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was twice widowed; first of Maurice Pettit and lastly Allen Reuben Swanger, Jr. (Papa)

Mrs. Swanger was retired from York County and a member of Unity at Calvary Church of God in Rock Hill and a supporter and participant in Relay for Life events. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or her church.

Reverend James Locklair will preside at the private graveside service in Chester Memorial Gardens.
