Elzie Billy Parker, 84, of Chester went home to be with his Heavenly Father on August 10, 2024. He was born in Hickory Grove to the late Lester and Martha Ann Martin Parker. He was twice widowed; first of Joyce Todd Parker in 1981 and lastly Elizabeth Brown Parker in 2022. He is survived by two daughters, Becky Doster, and her husband, Michael Dewayne, and their daughters, Katie Doster, Sarah Doster (Austin), Lydia Doster (Brandon) all of Chester, and Dana DiPasquale and her husband Greg of Chester; step-children, Ashley Darby (Josh) of Chester and Eric Howze of Charlotte. Also surviving are his siblings, Johnny Parker of Hickory Grove, Sam Parker of Rock Hill, Bonnie P. Roberts of Hickory Grove, Edna P. Ramsey, Ruth P. Hudson, Amy P. Harris, Nancy P. Hudson all of Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Lester Thomas "Joe" Parker, James Andrew Parker, Denver Parker, Amos Parker, Annell P. Felts, Mildred P. Pardue, and Mary Ann P. Cobb.

Mr. Parker was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. He loved singing Southern Gospel music and he had served as choir director, Sunday school teacher and deacon in several Chester area churches. He was a member of The Community Choir in Blacksburg and The Parker Quartet. Mr. Parker loved gardening and caring for his animals. He was a retired insurance agent serving many families in the area. He, at one time, was the plant manager for the Hamrick's plant in Hickory Grove.

On Saturday August 17th the visitation and funeral will be held for Mr. Parker at Wilksburg Baptist Church, 3137 Pinckney Road, Chester, SC 29706. The visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The Reverends Den Parker and Seth Johnson will conduct the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 760 Calvary Church Road, Carlisle, SC 29031.
