It is with deep sorrow that the Wallace family announces the death of their father, Bobby R. Wallace, 81. Mr. Wallace entered into rest on Monday, December 4, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family. The family will receive friends and celebrate his life from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Mr. Wallace, the widower of Martha M. Wallace, was born on April 11, 1942. He was the son of the late William Woodrow Wallace and Marie Gregory Wallace. Bobby attended Chester High School and graduated in 1960.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and then earned a BS in Marketing from the University of South Carolina in 1969.  He was employed by Sonoco Products Company from 1969 until his retirement in 2003. Bobby loved all things Gamecocks. His passion for the University of South Carolina athletics was unparalleled. If a game was on, Bobby could always be found in front of the computer or TV taking it all in through the good times and bad.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was lovingly known to them as PaPa. The grandchildren will always remember the wonderful times at the beach, whether it be a fun ride on the golf cart or the annual trip to Baskin Robbins. He enjoyed following them in their numerous sporting endeavors. Bobby had a gift of craftsmanship and was always being called upon by his children to create custom furniture for their homes and offices. Before his declining health, Bobby enjoyed spending time on his childhood property. He would spend hours walking the land, driving the bush hog, and enjoying the tranquility of his cherished property. He is survived by his sons, Brian Wallace (Christy) of Florence, SC and John Wallace (Brittany) of James Island, SC; daughter, Kim W. Frye (Jay) of Columbia, SC: five grandchildren, Bankston, Cooper, Katie Wallace Frye, Sullivan, and Emery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha M.
