Brevard "B" Merritt, Jr. age 80, of Myrtle Beach died January 21, 2014 in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Brevard and Sarah Moore Merritt, Sr. and the widower of, Chester native, Frances Melton Merritt. Mr. Merritt was a US Army veteran and a retired real estate broker. He graduated from Wofford College and he was a United Methodist. He is survived by one son, Brevard Merritt III and his wife Tracie of Marion, SC; one daughter, Sarah Frances Jensen and her husband Gregory of Lucama, NC; and four grand-daughters, granddaughters Samantha, Miranda, Hannah, and Sophie.

An avid fisherman, "B" enjoyed the past few years living in Apache Campground, Myrtle Beach, among family, friends, and fellow King Mackerel fighters.
May the Seas always  be calm, the bait plentiful, and the fight worthwhile.

A graveside funeral service with military honors for "B" will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 24, 2014 at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
