Mobley
January 11, 1945 – July 25, 2014
Robert "Butch" Franklin Mobley Jr., age 69, and husband of Brenda Smith Mobley, unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 25, 2014. Butch and Brenda celebrated fifty years of marriage in May of 2014. Butch was born in Chester to the late Robert Franklin "Frank" and Ethel Rollins Mobley Sr. He attended schools in Chester then he entered the U.S. Marines where he served his country valiantly in the Vietnam War. After his return from the service he worked in several automobile dealerships in Chester and then later opened Mobley's Garage on Pinckney Road. He was of the Christian faith and he is also survived by son Robert F. "Butchie" (Liza) Mobley of Chester; three daughters, Sherry Lynn (Chris) Hazelton of Pikeville, NC, Shannon Leigh (Jeff) Daly of Goldsboro, NC, Amanda Suzanne Huey (Michael Sprouse) of Chester; a cousin as close as a brother, Mac Mobley of Chester; 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Green, Marion Kinsey and Peggy Joyce Mobley.
Reverend Ronnie Green will conduct a graveside funeral at 4p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery; the family will receive friends immediately after the funeral. At other times they will be at the home, 639 Pinckney Road.
