Carol Lingerfelt Jones, age 70, of 119 Academy Street, died July 22, 2013 in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Chester to James H. and Hattie Crosby Lingerfelt. Carol lived a full life which included being a rocket scientist like her brother, a brain surgeon, and a scrabble champion of the world. She will truly be missed by her family. She loved life to the fullest. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Jones Duncan of Chester and April Jones Cannon and her husband Gary of San Antonio, Florida; the rocket scientist brother James Gary Lingerfelt of High Point, NC. She also had two grand-children, Shelby Jean Duncan and Savannah Lee Slaughter. She was preceded in death by one brother Earl Crosby Lingerfelt.
A social gathering to celebrate Carol's life will be held at Pollard Funeral Home at 7p.m. Friday evening.
