Carrie B. Dover, age 89, passed away peacefully in the home of her nephew and niece, Gil and Wendy Helms, on March 8, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Maggie Wooten-Bigham. She is survived by one sister, Betty B. Bagley of Chester. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John (Jay) F. Dover; four brothers, Doug Bigham, Tommy Bigham, James Bigham and E.L. Adams; two sisters, Rose Hough and Addie Kee.
Carrie was blessed with a large and loving family, including many adoring nieces and nephews.
Carrie graduated from Oakley Hall High School and attended Winthrop College.
She retired from the Chester County School District and she enjoyed serving as Treasurer of the Olde English District.
Carrie was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She also loved being a member of the handbell choir and helping with the church kindergarten activities.
The visitation will be at 11a.m. March 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church in the vestibule of the sanctuary. The funeral service will follow at noon with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. Her burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be given to the building fund of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the home of Betty Bagley at 105 Reedy Street in Chester.
