Charles Wallace Gilmer, age 71, of 1163 Radcliff Road, died December 14, 2013. Mr. Gilmer was born in Chester to the late Frank and Eva Mae Estes Gilmer. He was retired from the U. S. Navy with 24 years of service and he was of the Church of God faith. He is survived by two sons, Charles and Michael Gilmer both of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Ronald Eugene Gilmer and his wife Joann of North Augusta, SC, James "Jay" Gilmer and his wife Myrtle of Clover; one sister, Doris Black and her husband Rudy of Ft. Lawn.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Gilmer will be held 2:00p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Saluda Street Church of God, conducted by Reverend James Chappell. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Mr. Gilmer will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
