Chester Lewis Wines, Sr., age 79, passed away March 20, 2016. Visitation is 7-9, Tuesday at Pollard Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted by Reverends Melvin Pressley and Keith Hinson, 2pm Wednesday at The Community Church on Saluda Street. The burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wines was widow of Deloris Gessford Wines. He was born in Maryland and the son of the late Elias Clarence and Lida Bell Shipley Wines. He was a retired carpenter and a Freewill Baptist.

Surviving are two sons, Rick (Mary Jo Cross) and Chester Lewis Wines, Jr. (Lynn); daughter, Angela (Bim) Dillinger all of Chester; his brothers, Bernard N. and Maynard N. Wines both of Laurel, Maryland; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children. His grandchildren are Gary Dillinger, Kimberly Dillinger, Trent Cross, Danielle Caston (Quinton), Richard Wines II, C.L. Wines (Lori), Josh Wines (April), Summer Alexander, Stacie Wines, George Freeman, Kasey Keenon, and Angel Stogner (Cam). His great-grand-children are Chris Wines, Hannah White, Caden Wines, Aubrey Wines, Michael Wines, Jacob Wines, Alena Stogner, Cameron Stogner, Chyanne Kennon, Jeremy Browder, Madison Alexander, Kylee Wines, Taylor Freeman and Addison Dillinger.
