Clarence D. Freeman, Jr., 81 of Blackstock passed away Wednesday. Mr. Freeman was the widower of Peggy Ard Freeman and the son of the late Clarence and Pauline Flynn Freeman, Sr. He was born in Marion, NC, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired millwright.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Ray Crompton (Sharlene) of Blackstock, sister, Betty Callahan of Prestonburg, KY; grandchildren, Christopher Ray Crompton (Haena), Kasey Nichole Crompton, Ashley Crompton (Colin Rupp); great-grandchildren, Hyacinth Crompton and Felix Rupp; niece, Kelly Callahan. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. Freeman; one sister, Carol Bagwell; one brother, Robert Jack Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God. He loved hunting deer, rabbit, squirrel, fishing, raising Beagles, Walkers and Black & Tans.
The Celebration of Life Service, conducted by Reverend David Flanders, will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec 15 in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street in Chester.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial be made in Mr. Freeman's name to Fountain of Life Church of God.
