"Corky" Maurice H. Austin, 86, of Chester died September 19, 2014. He was the widower of Marjorie Hoffman Austin and the son of the late Durham and Beulah Austin. Before his retirement, Mr. Austin was the proprietor of Modern Upholstery in Chester. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by step-daughter Linda Herron and her husband Larry of Chester; sister, Vivian Peak of Columbia; four grandchildren, and one great-grand-child.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Melda Conran, Dot Dickey, Margaret Gladden; brothers, Wilton, Charlie, and Jim Austin; step-son Charles Hoffman.

A memorial service for Mr. Austin will be conducted by Reverend Eric Shepard, 4p.m. Sunday at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street in Chester.
