David Scates, 63, of 31 East White Street passed away Friday June 13, 2014. He was the son of Gertrude Collins Scates and the late Jack Scates. David was retired from Williams Electrical Repair and Service.

In addition to his mother, David was survived by four brothers, Ed, Bobby, Doug and Tim Scates all of Chester; two sisters, Sheila Aiken (Lester Partain) of Chester and Tammy Hudson of Forest City, NC. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vickie Flynn.

The visitation and funeral for David will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Pollard Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 1:30p.m. and the funeral will begin at 2:30p.m. The funeral will be officiated by Reverend Mike Schaffer. The burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Carolina Blood and Cancer Care Associates, 1583 Health Care Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

The family is gathering at 31 East White Street in Chester.
