Dewie Lee Roof, 68, of 1246 Liberty Road passed away May 16, 2014. He was born in Buffalo, S.C., to the late William F. and Ada Jane Mabry Roof. Mr. Roof attended schools in Chester County and retired from Weiser Security Service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a collector of Barbie dolls and knives, enjoyed fishing and spoiling he loving and faithful companion and "canine daughter" Delta Roof.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Sharon Hackney Roof of the home; sons Keith Roof and Tony Roof both of Chester; daughters, Renee James of Chester, Lynn Pennington of Cordell Georgia; one brother, Willie Ervin Roof of Anderson; two sisters, Betty McGinnis of Nashville Tennessee and Mary Beatrice Gaston and her husband Doug of Chester; eight grandchildren, Eric James, Dustin Roof, Zach Roof, Brandon Sigafoos, BJ Roof, Kaitlyn Roof, Lee Roof and Harley Roof; one great-grand-child Hunter Lee Roof. He was preceded in death by one brother James Thomas Roof.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 173 Columbia St., Chester, SC 29706.

Visitation for Mr. Roof will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at his home and a memorial service will be conducted at 2p.m. Monday by Reverend David Sealy and Mr. Jim Holley at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street Chester, SC 29706. On-line memorials may be signed at pollard-funeralhome.com.
