Donald Ray Privett, PhD, 80, of Great Falls, died October 29, 2019, at his home.

Dr. Privett was born December 13, 1938, in Great Falls, SC, to Marvin and Lola (Tarlton) Privett.

He completed his undergraduate work at The University of South Carolina and obtained his doctorate degree from The University of Tennessee.

He is survived by his sister, Diane P. Munn of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Doyle Privett.

At his request, no service will be held.

Dr. Privett work as a geologist and Professor of Geology. As a geologist was an avid collector of rocks and minerals.  He was known for his gardening talents and was skilled in working with plants.
