Dorothy Grant Adkins, age 86, of Chester, died January 29, 2016 in Carolina's Medical Center.

Dot was the daughter of Thomas Benjamin and Nannie Wallace Grant and the widow of Claude Adkins. She is survived by two sisters, Betty Jean Boulware of Chester and Mary Frances Poole of Richburg. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alvin, Wallace, Edward and Billy Grant; sisters, Barbara Gibson and Lucille Akery.

Mrs. Adkins was a lifetime member of Orrs Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and a Sunday school teacher.

Visitation for Mrs. Adkins will be 10-11 a.m., Monday at Pollard Funeral Home. The graveside funeral will be officiated by Rev. Randall Runion at 11 a.m., Monday at Chester Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in her name to Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Hwy., Chester, SC 29706
