Edward E. Messer, age 90 of Chester, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 at White Oak Manor.

He is survived by two sons, David (Yoko) of Chester, Douglas of Ft. Lawn; one daughter, Debbie of Chester. Also surviving are three sister-in-laws, Mattie Huffstetler of York, Lee Cope of Rock Hill and Vickie Cope of Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Cope Messer, one son, Donnie Messer, one grandson, Charlie Messer and a brother, Carl Messer.

He was retired from the Eureka Plant of Springs Industries. He loved fishing, selling produce and snow cones. He enjoyed repairing appliances, but mostly spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved Jesus, his family and friends and was a big President Trump fan. Although he was not able to attend church, he enjoyed watching services on TV. Mr. Messer never met a stranger.

The visitation for Mr. Messer will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Pollard Funeral Home in Chester. The funeral service, with Rev. Cliff Cochran, will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. The pallbearers will be Thomas Hicks, Chris Messer, Eric Messer, E. J. Messer, Kyle Hudson and Brian Roof. Jason Messer will serve as honorary pallbearer. The burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Mr. Messer to the American Heart Association, American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen VA 23058-5216 .

The family is gathering at the home on 2429 Hugo Drive in Chester.
