Obituary

Elsie Beckham Hall, age 101, passed away Feb. 14, 2013 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center. She was born in Rock Hill, SC to the late Elbert Marvin and Frances Hines Beckham. She was the widow of the late Jennings McKinley Hall to whom she married on February 21, 1936, at the Beckham home in Lowrys, SC.  She attended Rock Hill High School. She was an accomplished pianist and she played in the community orchestra in Pleasant Hill, SC. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys and she loved her Lord, her family and her church. She also enjoyed crafts, crocheting and gardening. For most of her young married life, she was a devoted housewife and mother, after which she was employed at Chester Sportswear, for a number of years.
After retirement, she was volunteer organist for the First Baptist Church of Lowrys, where she was also a member of Young at Heart and Fidelity Sunday School class. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and family.

Mrs. Hall is survived by one son, Ronald M Hall of Lowrys; two daughters Peggy H. Wyatt and her husband David of Spartanburg, Sara H. Cook of the home; one sister, Vernell Beckham Roof of Chester; 6 grandchildren, David K. Wyatt & wife Diane and Arthur M. Wyatt of Spartanburg, SC, Robert M. Hall &  wife Wanda, Michael G. Cook & wife Cindy, and Angela H. Clark & husband Kelly, of Chester, SC, and Suzanne E. Hall, of Turneuzen, The Netherlands, thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mildred Beckham and Dorothy Neely, 4 brothers, Hoyt Lyles Beckham, Simon Bradford Beckham, Elbert Larry Beckham and Gilbert Beckham.
The visitation for Mrs. Hall will be at First Baptist Church of Lowrys from 2:00 until 2:45, Sunday Feb 17, 2013. The funeral will follow and be conducted by Rev. Michael Shaffer at 3:00pm in the church sanctuary. Mrs. Hall will be laid to rest at the Zion Cemetery in Lowrys.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Hospice Care of SC, 173 Cloumbia Street, Chester, SC 29706
The family is gathering at 605 Colony Road in Lowrys.
