Evelyn Messer, age 84 of 2429 Hugo Drive, passed away Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. She was the daughter of the late Hugh M. and Evia Meece Cope and the wife of Edward E. Messer of the home. She is also survived by two sons and their wives, David and Yoko Messer and Douglas and Shelby Messer, all of Chester; one daughter and her husband Debbie and Artie Pullets of West Columbia; three sisters, Mattie Huffstetler and Betty Irene Ward both of York and Mildred Curtis of Dalton, Ga. Mrs. Messer has five grandchildren, Chris, Tommy, Eric, Jason and Crystal as well as eleven great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by; one son, Donnie Messer, and one grand-son, Charlie Messer.

She was retired from the Eureka Plant of Springs Industries and a member of Orrs Baptist Church. She loved sewing and gardening and was well known for her cooking and feeding her loving family. She loved the Lord's Prayer and faithfully prayed it nightly.

The visitation for Mrs. Messer will be 6-8:00p.m. Thursday at Pollard Funeral Home and the funeral service, by Reverend Randall Runion, will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, at Orrs Baptist Church. Mrs. Messer will be laid to rest at Chester Memorial Gardens.

The family is gathering at the home, 2479 Hugo Drive in Chester.
