Florence Irene Venema Guthrie, age 71, of Chester passed away after a sudden illness on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Chester Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Gary Alan Guthrie and the daughter of the late Hendrick and Irene Austin Venema.

Ms. Guthrie was born in Rochester, New York on September 22, 1944, she is survived by her children Paul Alan Guthrie and his wife Wendy of Bristol, Tennessee and Karen Guthrie-Cordaro and her husband James of Macedon, New York; one brother, John Venema and his wife Dorothy of Shortsville, New York; her companion, Mr. James Propson of Chester; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jakob, Krischin, Kamron and Alyssa; and two great grandchildren.

Ms. Guthrie was a Baptist and she enjoyed taking care of her pets, reading, and knitting.

A family viewing will be held at Pollard Funeral Home, 11a.m. Sunday, October 11th.

Ms. Guthrie will be laid to rest, with Mr. Guthrie, at Macedon Center Cemetery in Macedon, NY. The graveside service will be conducted by Robert Yost Funeral Home, 10:00a.m. Wednesday, October 21st.
