Frances G. Flenniken, age 79, of 213 Brendale Drive, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2014. She was born in Lockhart, SC to the late Johnny H. and Ruby Wilson Gregory. She was a member of Orrs Baptist Church and she worked at the Katherine Plant and was retired from ABC Party Shop in Chester. Frances was well known in the area for her gentle and caring ways in setting with the elderly and the homebound; she was also a four time cancer survivor and helped rear her grandchildren.

Mrs. Flenniken is survived by one son, Joe West (Rhonda) of Union; one daughter, Gloria K. McFalls (Kenneth) of Chester; one sister, Juanita Wilson of Chester; eight-grandchildren and seven great-grand-children; and close friend, Lucille Poston of Chester. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Faye Simpson; two sisters, Barbara Yarborough, and Edna Black.

Visitation for Mrs. Flenniken will be held 2 – 4p.m. Friday at Pollard Funeral Home; the funeral will be conducted by Reverends Curtis Marshall and Randall Runion, 2p.m Saturday at Pollard Funeral Home. The burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to a charity in Mrs. Flenniken's name. The family expresses gratitude to her caregivers; Nancy McWatters, Connie Stedman, Joyce Feaster and Vickie Clark and Hospice Care of SC.
