Franklin Benjamin Pressley, age 85, passed away Sunday September 18, 2016. He was born in Abbeville, SC to the late Joe and Dora Barnett Pressley. He is survived by his wife Elnora M. Pressley of the home; children and step-children, Franklin B. Pressley (Yasmin) of Austin, Texas, Dorothy Pressley Willard (Larry) of Chester, Douglas Pitts (Bob) of Chester; brothers, Rev. Melvin Pressley, Ralph Pressley, Eddie Pressley, B.L. Pressley, Donnie Pressley, Roger Pressley; fifteen grand-children and step-grand-children; twelve great-grand-children and step-great-grand-children.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Presslet; sisters; Lorraine P. Little, Barbara Jean Pressley, Ella Pressley; children, Joe Lee Pressley, Kenneth Franklin Wayne Pitts; step-children, William Pitts, Alpha Kay Pitts Allen, J.C. Pitts.

Mr. Pressley was retired from Cone Mills-Carlisle Plant and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-7p.m. at Pollard Funeral Home. His graveside funeral, with military honors, will be conducted by Rev. Randall Runion, 11:00a.m., Thursday at the Uriel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Hwy., Chester, SC 29706 or Hospice Care of SC, 173 Columbia Street, Chester, SC 29706.

The family is gathering at the home, 1243 Stringfellow Road in Chester.
