Franklin Roof, 82, passed away Saturday. He was born in Chester to the late Clarence E. and Omie Price Roof, Sr. and he was the husband of Alma Mobley Roof of the home. He is also survived by his daughters, Wanda Nichols of Rock Hill, Tammy Mixon (Sammy) of Chester, Frankie Campbell of Chester; one sister Louise R. Grant of Chester; five grandchildren Kelly Mathews, Victoria Chandler, Ashley Mixon, Amanda Crocker, D.J. Campbell; ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter Teresa "Tisa" Roof; five brothers, Clarence E. Roof, Jr., A.J. Roof, Sr, Herbert "Red" Roof, Gordon Roof, William "Bill" Roof, Sr; one sister Elizabeth "Lib" Roof Yarborough.

Mr. Roof attended Wilksburg Baptist Church when his health allowed. He loved every member of his family and had a very special and deep love for his grands and greats. He was retired from Inman Mills, loved fishing, baseball, golf and tinkering with lawnmowers and small engines.

The visitation will be 3:00 – 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, September 13th at Wilksburg Baptist Church. The celebration of life memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. and conducted by Rev. Seth Johnson.
