Fred Hefner, age 86, of Chester passed away August 3, 2020. He was born in Lando to the late Freddie C. and Cora Wilson Hefner and the widower of Ruby Gaynell Hefner.

Mr. Hefner was a member of Saluda Street Church of God and he was retired from the U.S. Army, after returning to Chester, he again retired from Springs Industries.

He is survived by 3 grand-children, Lucinda McKellar of Irmo, SC, Frederick Aron Hefner of Gastonia, NC, Michael William Hefner of Union, SC;3 great-grand-children, Lydia Hefner, Kailee Hefner, Frederick Avery Hefner. He was preceded in death by his son Frederick William Hefner.

At Mr. Hefner's request a private burial will be in Lando Cemetery.
