Gaynell Hefner, age 86, passed away at Chester County Nursing Facility on May 11, 2017. She was the wife of Fred Hefner and the daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Binns Fortner and she was retired from Springs Industries where she was a spinning instructor. She was preceded in death by one son, Fredrick William Hefner; one brother, Calvin Fortner and twin sister Reba Fortner.

Mrs. Hefner was a member of Saluda Street Church of God and she had a God given talent in horticulture. She was known for a two techniques of successfully grafting Passion Flower onto Mum for an Easter Egg tree and for her black Daylilies, by the crossing of dark red and purple daylilies.

It was Mrs. Hefner's wish that all services be kept private.
