George W. Atkinson, III, 77, passed away on April 2, 2024. He was the son of the late George W. and Elizabeth Hall Atkinson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diana L. Atkinson; 1 son, George W. Atkinson, IV of Pender, Nebraska; 2 daughters, Ginger Atkinson Darby of Chester, Crystal A. Williford (Brandon) of Chester; 1 step-son, Roger H. Allen (Gina) of Chester; 2 step-daughters, Mary Callahan (Kevin) of Pender, Nebraska, Rhonda A. Stewart (Brian) of Richburg; 1 brother, Roger Atkinson (Margie) of Blythwood, SC; 1 sister, Sylvia Lacy of Bromyard, UK; 8 grandchildren, Sallie, Emma, Simp, Bryson, Joey, Jordan, Brianna and Lex. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Bass Atkinson; 1 step-son, Dewayne Allen and 1 step-grand, Bradley.

Mr. Atkinson was retired from Omnova Solutions in Chester and was a member of Armenia Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf when he was in good health and he loved watching all sports.

The memorial service, conducted by Mr. Mark Huey, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service, at the funeral home, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
