George A. Powell, age 76, formerly of Michigan passed away Sunday. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan to the late George Powell and Helen Snyder Powell. He is survived by two sons, Damon Powell (Devorah) of Orlando Fl., and Travis Powell (Kim) of Tennessee; grand-children, Tayler, Allyson, Drew, Amelia, Ayden, Avery and Alena; one brother, Greg Powell and step-mother, Helen Dombrausky.

Mr. Powell was retired from the insurance industry and he was a U.S. Army veteran, 1967-1969. He enjoyed digging for precious gemstones, panning for gold and searching for valuables with his metal detector. He had a knack for hunting gems and "could smell the rocks in the hills".

The services for Mr. Powell will be private.
