George Douglas Sluder, 85, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025. He was the husband of Helen Slack Sluder. Doug was born in Oconee County, SC to the late George Thomas Sluder and Magnolia Alice Turner Sluder. He was a retired engineer from Duke Energy. Doug was a United Methodist. He was a member of Chester Golf Club where he had been a marshal when his health was better. He was also a model railroad hobbyist and photographer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Christian Douglas Sluder (Beth) of Arnold, Md, Barry Ashley Sluder (Robbie) of Ft. Mill, SC, Alan Thomas Sluder (Andrea) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Eric Neal Sluder (Melisa) Atlanta, Ga., brother, Melvin T. Sluder (Evelyn) Westminster, SC.; grandchildren, Perri, Beau, Connor, Thomas and Alexis Sluder and Tara Dallas Davies; great-grandchildren, Robert, Kaden, Frankie and Daliah Davies.

Doug was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kim Sluder; step-daughter, Robin Louise Lawson; great-grandson, Bailey Lawson.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Mike Burgess, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the chapel of Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester, SC 29706.
