Age 88, of Chester, SC, passed away September 3, 2020, at her home. She was born in Buffalo, NY, to the late Lawrence and Catherine Talarico MacVittie, Sr.

Gladys was the widow of Ernest James McKay.

She loved telling the story of how she and Ernie met, and how he would row his boat down the beach to the little post office she worked at in Turkey Point, Ontario.

Gladys was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She also loved square dancing, Frank Sinatra, and was an amazing baker.

She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Laura Hathaway of Monroe, NC, Keith McKay of Buffalo, NY, and Michelle Fleming (Ken) of Aiken, SC; one brother, Ralph MacVittie of Buffalo, NY ; six grandchildren - Kristopher, Kyle (Lorissa), Kristen (Aaron), Megan (Justin), Georgia (Tom), and Kathryn (Brian); and sixteen great-grand-children - Justin, Carter, Hayden, Alyssa, Connor, Cate, Walker, Mason, Madison, Tatum, Cole, Matthew, Austin, Aiden, Tyler, and Bryson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence MacVittie, Jr.
