GREG MELTON

Robert Gregory Melton, Jr., age 37, and husband of Robin Stricker Melton, unexpectedly passed away Monday March 16, 2015. He was the son of Robert "Bobby" G. and Angie Austin Melton, Sr. of Chester; the brother of Rebecca Hare and her husband Chad of Chester and the grandson of Laura Austin of Chester and the late John Austin.

Greg was a graduate of Chester schools; served his country in the U.S. Marines; and loved riding his Harley Davidson bikes with the many biker friends he and Robin have made in the Chester and surrounding areas. He enjoyed participating in poker runs to raise money for charities. Greg also loved cooking for his friends and family however, he disappeared when it came to cleaning up afterwards. He also enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews.

The family is gathering at the home of Laura Austin, 109 Maiden Lane in Chester. The funeral and visitation will be held Saturday March 21, 2015 at West Chester Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. and the funeral will be officiated by Reverend Jeff Gullish at 1:00p.m. His motorcycle family will then provide escort to Chester Memorial Gardens, where Greg will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to West Chester Baptist Church, 1898 Pinckney Road, Chester, SC 29706.
