Obituary

Helen Roddey Weir, 87, passed on to life eternal on May 26 , 2014 at Chester Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Leonard A. "Dump" Weir and the daughter of the late William Henry and Zada Campbell Roddey.

Mrs. Weir was a retired secretary from Springs Industries for forty five years and she was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she, taught the Ladies' Sunday School Class for thirty six years; was the former organist and pianist, she was also a member of the Women's Circle.

Mrs. Weir is survived by; one son, Andy Weir and his wife Ann of Chester; one grand-daughter, Melanie McDaniel and her husband David of McConnels; two nephews she reared, Don Robinson and his wife Connie, Doug Robinson and his wife Karen; one brother Bobby Roddey and his wife Belinda of Chester; two sisters, Faye Roddey Skipper of Lancaster and Betty Rose Fleming of Chester.

She was preceded in death by one sister Gloria Ann Robinson and one brother, William Wylie Roddey.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Great Falls Hwy., Chester, SC 29706.

The visitation for Mrs. Weir will be held Tuesday afternoon 5 to 7p.m.at Pollard Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, by Pastor Rick Wheeler and Reverend David Sealy. The burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family is meeting at the home of Andy and Ann Weir, 1092 Pineview Lakes Drive in Chester.
