Obituary

Jack "Clyde" Fichtner, husband of Deborah "Bonnie" McGhee Fichtner, of 2294 State Hwy 215 N., passed away May 11, 2013 at his home. In his final days, he applied all of his energy in fighting his battle with cancer and heart disease.
Jack was born in Los Angeles, California to George and Gwenn Fichtner, both now deceased.
He served in the US Army in Vietnam and Turkey. Jack was a utility lineman for many years throughout the Mid West and then became a contractor specializing in log home building and restoration. He retired to South Carolina five years ago. Upon retiring he joined several organizations to support our military troops. Jack was a passionate motorcycle rider and has visited every state in the United States of America. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America where he had served as Chaplin and in April he was elected President of Post 644 in Union, SC. He was a member of the American Legion and the Legion Riders Post 34 in Rock Hill, SC. He was also a member of the Patriot Guard Riders of South Carolina.
In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by three daughters, Taurea Hope Fichtner of Vancouver Washington, Kathy McCall of Blair, SC, Maradee Fichtner of Texas; three sons, Lance "Smitty" Smith and Ricky Foreman both of Arlington Texas, and Blake Williams of Blair, SC. His grand-children are Lira, Libra, Rainey, Methias, Chelsey and Jason; his great-grand child is Beyla.
The memorial service for Jack will be held at 6:00pm, Friday May 17, 2013 at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester.
