James Thomas Green, age 84, of 48 East White Street passed away June 7, 2013 in Rock Hill. He was the widower of the late Dorothy Whitaker Green and the son of the late Fred and Leila Scruggs Green. Mr. Green was a U.S. Navy veteran and he was retired from the Springsteen Mill of Springs Industries.
Mr. Green was a member of Fountain of Life Church of God and the American Legion.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Hawkins, Janette Ballard and Linda Kay Ramsey; two brothers, Boyd and Charles Greene, all of Chester; five grand children; and five great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by one son, Everett Ray Green; three brothers, Fred Jr., Bill and George Greene.
The family is gathering at the home, 48 E. White Street in Chester and will receive friends there, Sunday afternoon from 4:00 until 5:00p.m.
Mr. Green's graveside funeral will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Chester Memorial Gardens. Reverend Walter D. Mitchum will officiate.
