James B. "Big Jim" Varnadore, age 76, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at his home. He was the recent widower of Judy B. Varnadore (April 13, 2021), and the son of the late Edith Shirley Varnadore and Otis D. "Skip" Varnadore. He is survived by his son, Jimmy Varnadore (Dodie); his daughters, Melba Mathews (Eddie) and Julie Green all of Chester; sisters, Margaret Owens and Janice Owens both of Chester; grand-children, Jamie, Justin and Dustin Varnadore, Eric Roof, Todd and Lee Mathews; Allen and Michael Green, Kurstin Haynes and Morgan Cope; 24 great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Roof and Melissa Cope; grand-daughter, Amanda Roof; 3 brothers, Otis, Johnny and Donnie Varnadore.

"Big Jim" was a retired carpenter and painter. He was a Baptist, loved dirt track racing, wrestling, hunting, fishing and most of all, time spent with his family.

The Celebration of Life Service will be hosted by the family; Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2021, 2:00 o'clock; at his home, 1211 Wallace Road, Blackstock, SC 29014, Reverend, Ronnie Greene will officiate.
