A family hosted Celebration of Life for Jeffrey will be held 12:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1st. at his grand-father's home, 942 Enix Road in Chester.

Jeffrey Todd Matthews, Jr., age 33, passed away Tuesday in the loving presence and care of his family. He is survived by his son, Rivers Matthews; his mother, Betty Birch Dover of Chester and his father, Jeffrey T. Matthews, Sr. and step-mother, Christy Matthews of Lancaster. He is also survived by his grandfathers, Dean Birch (Debbie) of Chester and Jimmy Miller of Chester; two sisters, Taylor and Brittany Matthews both of Chester; half-sister, Mallory Matthews of Lancaster; step-sister, Tristian Ewing of Lancaster; half-brother Cody Matthews of Lancaster; step-brother, Zach Ewing of Kershaw. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Matthews; two grand-mothers, Judy Miller and Rachael Roberts Brooks, and step-father, David Ferrell.

Jeffrey was of the Baptist faith, he loved AMA dirt bike racing, hunting and fishing. Before his health declined he was a metal fabricator and had worked for Rock Hill Industrial Piping and Fabrication and most recently at ATI Specialty Materials in Richburg.
