Jennie Vee Edwards Lance, age 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, after a brief illness April 10, 2013 at Agape Hospice in Rock Hill, SC.
She was born March 22, 1930in Ft. mill, SC to William Arthur and Jennie Vee Thackston Edwards, Sr. She graduated from Fort Mill High School and then married the love of her life, Hoyt J. Lance. Together they reared four wonderful sons. To know Ms Jennie was to love her. She enjoyed attending church, reading and just being with her family. Family was what she lived for; and she loved every one of her family members near and far including her church family at Cool Branch Baptist Church in Blair, SC where she had been a member since 1973.
She is survived by three sons, John W. Lance of Cramerton, NC, Thomas H. Lance of Chester and Robert Lance of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Dimples Gibson of Ft. Mill, SC and Joy Hughes of Easley, SC; ten grand-children and sixteen great-grand-children; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Randall M. Lance.
A memorial service for Mrs. Lance will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Pollard Funeral Home, 115 York Street, Chester, SC 29706. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cool Branch Baptist Church, 10726 Hwy 215 N., Blair SC, 29015.
The family is gathering at 130 Hemphill Avenue in Chester at the home of Thomas Lance.
