Jerry D. King, age 75, of 529 Ferrell Avenue, passed away August 7th, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center. Jerry was the recent widower of "Cooter" Volenious Ferrell King. He was the son of the late Frank D. and Lucille King and the father of Michelle King of Abbeville. He is also survived by grand-daughters Lacee Brown and Mandee Wilkes and her husband David; sister, Barbara Knox of Gaston. He was predeceased by two brothers, Dewey and John Gilbert King. Mr. King was a retired deputy from the Chester County Sheriff Department. After his retirement he worked at Chester Regional Medical Center for American Security. He was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church, he loved camping, being outdoors and cooking for his family and friends.
The family is gathering at 529 Ferrell Avenue.
The visitation for Mr. King will be held on Saturday from 6 to 8pm and the funeral will be at 2pm Sunday at Pollard Funeral Home. The burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
