Joseph Alexander Gebbia, 74, of 911 Hermits Hill Drive, passed away July 4, 2014 at his home while surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Diane Hargett Gebbia and the son of the late Joseph and Anita Bonollo Gebbia. Mr. Gebbia is also survived by two sons, Joseph A. Gebbia and his wife Sheri of Delaware, Leo Gebbia of Heath Springs; one daughter, Anita Shirley of Heath Springs; two brothers, Pete G. and Samuel Gebbia both of Maryland; two sisters, Mary Skulty of California and Marie Whichard of Maryland, eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother, Rose Rockenberg and Johnny Gebbia.

Mr. Gebbia was a retired police chief of Tega Cay Police Department.  He was a member of Living By faith Baptist Church and also a well known strawberry farmer.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Living by Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 496, York, SC 29745.

Mr. Gebbia's memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Rick Sturgis, 4p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Living by Faith Baptist Church, 2201 Chester Highway in York. Visitation with refreshments will follow, in the church.
