Mr. J.W. Talbert of 2653 Dawson Drive passed away on October 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Talbert's visitation will be Saturday at Parkway Baptist Church beginning at 10am, the funeral will be at 11am in the church sanctuary and conducted by the Reverends Jay Dorsey and Edward Harris. Mr. Talbert will be laid to rest at Chester Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Talbert was born in Kershaw to the late Kirby L. and Rose McCoy Talbert. He was the husband of Mary Mosley Talbert of the home. He is also survived by three sons, Ricky Talbert of Chester, Ronnie Talbert and his wife Glenna of Woodstock, Georgia, Johnnie Talbert and his wife Terri of Wateree; one daughter Lisa Knight and her husband Jerry of Kershaw; one sister, Rose Mae Wilson and her husband J.P. of Edgemoor; 9 grand-children; 10 great-grand-children. He was predeceased by 8 siblings. Mr. Talbert was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church and a former Liberty Life agent in Chester and he was retired from Springs Industries. After retirement he worked for Mack's Cleaners and Piedmont Auto Parts in Chester.
The family would like to thank the hospice caregivers, Lynn Lee, Amy J. Nichols, Latoya Feaster, the Crisis Care Team and Dr. Sam Stone for all of their loving care, devotion and kindness to Mr. Talbert.
The family is gathering at the home, 2653 Dawson Drive in Chester.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Care of SC 173 Columbia Street, Chester, SC 29706.
