Larry B. Herron

Mr. Larry B. Herron, 70, died Monday, May 12, 2015, at White Oak Manor, York. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Armenia United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor F.J."Eric" Shepard and Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.

Mr. Herron was born January 18, 1945 in Berkley County, SC and was a son of the late Richard Lee & Jerrie Cook Herron. He attended York Technical College and obtained his degree in Culinary Arts from Central Piedmont Community College.  Mr. Herron served as part-time magistrate and retired from F. Schumacher. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Herron was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church of Chester. He was an avid barbeque competitor and shared his talent with others by participating in local charities.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hoffman Herron; two daughters, Jennifer Herron of Charleston, SC and Caitlen Cheyenne Herron of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Kyle Herron and his wife Dana, of Columbia, SC, and Larry Scott Herron of Chester, SC; one granddaughter, Savannah Littlejohn; one sister, Lillian Tarlton of Monroe NC; and one brother, Richard Lee Herron Jr. of Marshville, NC. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Todd Herron.
