Laura Melton Rist, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday with her family. She was the daughter of the late John M. and Sadie Gaston Melton. She is survived by her son, John D. Rist; daughter, Stephany Lynn Kelly; brothers, Lonnie Melton and Richard Melton; grandchildren Cobe Bryant Stevenson, Chloe Loftis, Logan D. Rist and Chelsi Love Kelly. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carla Ann Rist.

She was a Christian and a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church. She loved being with her children and grandchildren.
