Linda D. Bates, 73, passed away Friday. She was born in Newark, NJ to the late Frederick DeMarzo and Alice Zigirski DeMarzo. She is survived by four sons, Paul Bates of Chester, Michael Bates (Astarte) of Cleveland, Tennessee, Robert Bates of Chester, John Bates (Shannon) of New Bedford, Massachusetts; one daughter, Patricia Bates of Chester; one brother, Anthony DeMarzo (Harold) of Dover, Delaware; two sisters, Christine Langer (Neal) of Bayville, NJ, Sue Rieder of Metuchen, NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Aleesha, Justin, Ian, Christina Bates; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Jackson, Averie Strong, Zoey Jackson, Dakari Jackson, Eric Bates, Jr.; two nephews, Joshua and Dylan Langer; one niece, Rachel Langer; special devoted friend, Sheila Marland. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Eric Bates and Johnathan Bates.

Linda loved visiting Myrtle Beach, her animals, and reading her books. She was of the Catholic faith.

The family will receive friends 12:30 -1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 1st, at Pollard Funeral Home. Following the visitation Pastor Timothy Williams will conduct the graveside funeral, 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.

The family is gathering at the home of Ms. Bates, 1394 Minter Road in Chester.
