A sweet and very caring lady, Marjorie Doran Griggs, 77, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday. Mrs. Griggs was the widow of Charles Griggs, Sr.

She was born in Blackstock, SC to the late William Henry Bennett, Sr. and Fannie Chapman Bennett. She is survived by her son Charles "Chuck" Griggs, Jr. and her daughter, Jeannie Griggs both of Edgemoor, her grand-dogs that she loved very much, Baby, Cisco and Brownie, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, William H. Bennett, Jr. and Patricia B. Hunter.

She was a member of Chester Freedom Ministries, an avid reader and enjoyed the songbirds that visited her yard. Mrs. Griggs was retired from Springs Industries-Katherine Plant and the Hampton Inn in Rock Hill.

Her Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7th at Chester Freedom Ministries, 729 Village Drive, Chester, SC 29706 and conducted by Pastor Steve Bishop. The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in memory of Mrs. Griggs to her church at the above address.
