Mary Alice Collins, 75, of Chester passed away peacefully in her home on April 28, 2024. Born in Spartanburg to the late Wallace and Naomi Hughey Champion, Mary lived a life devoted to selflessness, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Mary, alongside her husband of 61 years, Charles Collins, was the proud owner of the Bantam Chef for many many years. Mary's ability to forge deep and meaningful connections combined with her endearing strong will and stubbornness gave her a rare superpower: the ability to make things almost always go in her favor. Her determination and unique charm were what made the world go round for those who truly knew her.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her son, Craig Collins (Jessie), whom she loved deeply and unconditionally; her niece, Morgan Greene, whom she helped raise as her own; her nephew, Josh Greene (Kim), who held a special place in her heart; and her niece, Melanie Greene, who shared a deep bond with her throughout their lives. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, George Greene and Bobby Collins; sister-in-law, Betty Ezell; other nieces and nephews Valentina Noiret, Lilly Noiret, Austin Jones, Juan Burns, Roxana Burns, and Stacy Norris. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frankie Collins; brothers, Lavon Champion, Harry Wiley, Bill Wiley; sisters, Nadine Greene, Arlene Carlton, and Joanne Rawls; nephew, George Greene Jr.

Mary's faith was the guiding light of her life, and she was an active member of Chester First Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Chester First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney Street, Chester, SC 29706.

Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4th, at Chester First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Jon Parrish will conduct the memorial service at 3:00 p.m.
